The NIKKEI "Most successful lawyers" survey is made up of responses to questionnaires that were sent to the heads of legal affairs at 523 major companies in Japan and to 150 lawyers at big law firms in Japan during October and November 2018. Respondents were asked to name two lawyers in each of three practice areas: Corporate; Corporate crisis management; and International trade law. Valid responses were received from 212 companies and 121 lawyers.
