Associate Natsuki Hosoya will speak at the Gender Law Association 2025 Annual Conference, 23rd Symposium on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025. The presentation is titled: “Judicial Responses to Sexual Harassment: Thirty Years Since the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.”

In this presentation, Natsuki, an active member of the Gender Law Association - will draw on her extensive experience addressing sexual harassment issues in both domestic and international organizations. The report will examine Japan’s judiciary response to sexual harassment since the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995), analyze remaining challenges, and propose solutions.
Building on her work as a sexual harassment expert at UN Women, where she was responsible for international treaties and standards such as the ILO Convention No. 190 on the Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the World of Work, Natsuki will offer fresh insights and recommendations from a global perspective on Japan’s judicial system.
