Mr. Yuji Onuki’s passing

It is with the deepest regret that we inform you that Yuji Onuki, who led our firm as a partner for many years, passed away on May 16 at 2:38 pm; he was 57 years old.

In accordance with Mr. Onuki’s wishes, his funeral was attended by only his relatives and close friends.

Mr. Onuki’s biography
Mr. Onuki was born in 1959. He was admitted to practice law in Japan in 1990. He specialized in international and domestic bankruptcy and insolvency including the restructuring of business corporations, especially medical entities.
He was the managing partner of Asahi Law Firm from 2005 to 2007, and an Executive Committee member of Nishimura & Asahi from 2011.

Mr. Onuki served the community in various roles, including as a Lecturer at Aoyama Gakuin University Law School; Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs; Chairman of the Insolvency and Civil Law Review Committee; Vice-President of Daini Tokyo Bar Association; and Deputy Secretary General of the Japan Federation of Bar Associations.
