The New ICSID Rules and Regulations - an Overview

On 1 July 2022, the amendments to the ICSID Rules and Regulations of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) came into effect, after a long and carefully managed deliberation process. Since October 2016, ICSID has been engaging in consultations to amend its Rules and Regulations with the goal to “modernize, simplify, and streamline the rules, while also leveraging information technology to reduce the environmental footprint of ICSID proceedings”.
