LCIA “Tylney-style” session one: Practice and Procedure

February 24, 2024
Singapore Offices of Wong Partnership

International arbitration partner Lars Markert co-chaired a discussion on practice and procedure in international arbitration at a Tylney-style LCIA event held on Feb 21, 2024.

In the LCIA Tylney-style tradition, the symposium was designed to be interactive and to provide an opportunity for delegates to share news and views on developments in the field of international commercial arbitration and dispute resolution. Delegates were contacted before the symposium and invited to submit topics for discussion; on the day of the symposium, attendees were encouraged to participate in a free-flowing discussion of the topics raised, under the expert guidance of the Co-Chairs.

Lars’ practice is focused on commercial and investment arbitration. He has particular expertise in contentious proceedings involving post-M&A, commercial, manufacturing, construction, and distribution matters, in areas such as life sciences, automotive, and energy. Lars also deals with cases involving governments, and has advised foreign investors and sovereign states on issues of foreign direct investment and public international law, including related negotiations and investor-state disputes. He has been involved in more than 50 international arbitrations as counsel and arbitrator under the arbitration rules of institutions such as the ICC, DIS, SAC, NAI, ICDR, KCAB, JCAA, SIAC, and ICSID, as well as under the UNCITRAL Rules.
