Notice of Establishment of the Nishimura Institute of Advanced Legal Studies

1. Establishment
Nishimura & Partners has established the Nishimura Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) as of April 10, 2007, as a means to enhance the standard of legal practice in Japan by focusing on the integration of legal scholarly theory and day-to-day practice. Professor Seiichi Ochiai will serve as the head of NIALS.

2. Professional Profile of Mr. Seiichi Ochiai, Head of NIALS
Graduated from the University of Tokyo' s Faculty of Law in 1968. Former Professor of the Graduate Schools for Law and Politics, Faculty of Law, the University of Tokyo. Currently, Professor of Chuo Law School. Government Committee Chairman of the Administering Committee for Competitive Tendering between the Public and Private Sector, Chair of the M&A Investigation Committee, Economic and Social Research Institute, Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, President of Japan Corporate Governance Forum, of Counsel to Nishimura & Partners.

Specialized in Commercial Law.
