Hong Kong

We are proud to be the first major Japanese law firm to establish a presence in Hong Kong, leveraging the strengths of our local office to provide a wide range of legal services in both Hong Kong and mainland China.
In December 2024, Nishimura & Asahi became the first major Japanese law firm to register with The Law Society of Hong Kong as a foreign law firm. This registration was the first of its kind granted to a major Japanese firm. Partners Saori Okada and Ryuichi Sakamoto lead the office as co-representatives.
Hong Kong has strong economic, trade, and business ties across Asia, especially with mainland China, making it a vital market for Japanese and international companies. Our firm has long provided legal support to clients establishing and operating locally while also advising Hong Kong and overseas companies on their business activities in Japan. Our presence in the region enhances our ability to provide timely and effective legal support for the inbound and outbound needs of companies in Japan, Hong Kong, and globally.
