October Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Seminar by a Cancer Survivor (for N&A members)

Nishimura & Asahi participated in a project led by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare to promote cancer awareness for women in companies, called the “Working RIBBON (W RIBBON)” Women's Conference.

In October, which is designated as Pink Ribbon Month, we conducted an awareness campaign to disseminate information about breast cancer and encourage breast cancer screenings.

We had the honor of welcoming a cancer survivor “Miwa Kawano” (the host of the opening night at the Pink Ribbon Festival sponsored by the Japan Cancer Society) on October 18, and talked about how she overcame surgery and treatment after being diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, a fast-growing disease with limited treatment options, while working as an announcer and raising a family.
We were able to deepen our understanding of the importance of breast cancer screenings and gain knowledge on balancing treatment and work.

Moving forward, we will continue to work towards becoming an organization where diverse members can work with peace of mind and mutually respect each other's values and work styles.
