Makiko Takabe joins Nishimura & Asahi

We are pleased to announce that Makiko Takabe joined Nishimura & Asahi as an Of Counsel on October 15, 2021.

Makiko Takabe is a graduate of the 33rd Class of the Legal Training and Research Institute of the Supreme Court of Japan. She has had a distinguished career as a Judge, during which she gained extensive practical experience and held a number of high-ranking judicial positions, including as Presiding Judge of the Tokyo District Court, Chief Judge of the Intellectual Property High Court, and President of the Takamatsu High Court, until she retired in September 2021.

Makiko Takabe will advise our firm in a broad range of areas using her considerable experience and expertise to enrich and develop our practice groups. We firmly believe that Makiko Takabe will further strengthen our dispute resolution and intellectual property practices in particular, and that she will also be a great addition to our firm's capabilities as a whole.
