Leading Japanese law firm Nishimura & Asahi (“N&A”) is pleased to announce the expansion of its international presence to Europe, with the opening of a principal office in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Our German operations will be co-led by partner Noriya Ishikawa and foreign law partner* Dr. Dominik Kruse, and will be supplemented by a branch office in Düsseldorf.

“Our expansion to Europe underlines our commitment both to our Japanese clients, in connection with their potential or existing activities in Europe, as well as to our international clients who are taking advantage of increasing opportunities to invest in Asia,” said N&A Managing Partner Masaki Hosaka. “With our firm’s expansion in Asia already well developed, the time has come for us to go to Europe. Our goals include providing seamless support, a closer and more convenient presence and a coordinating point for European clients as they do business in Asia.”

Germany co-head Dominik Kruse said: “Our Frankfurt office will focus on supporting our clients’ transactions, disputes and regulatory matters. The office will advise on German and Japanese laws on a wide range of transactions involving Asian, European and international businesses, assets and clients. Our operation in Frankfurt will also be supported by qualified N&A lawyers in our Tokyo, Bangkok, Jakarta and Vietnam offices, among others. Our presence in Europe, Asia and the US will ensure that we can service the needs of our clients across all major time-zones in real time.”

The Frankfurt office will have its branch in Düsseldorf, which is expected mainly to advise the subsidiaries and affiliates of our existing Japanese clients based in the city and surrounding region.
