N&A advises clients on all aspects of the energy sector. Our experience includes advising on renewable energy projects （solar, wind, biomass, and geothermal）, conventional projects such as LNG and upstream oil & gas, nuclear power, and emerging sectors such as clean hydrogen, clean ammonia and carbon capture and storage.
We advise clients on international transactions involving upstream and downstream projects as they seek to secure critical energy supply. We also advise clients regarding downstream projects, whether in developing markets in South East Asia or in mature markets such as Europe. Our work includes advising on equity investments, financing, joint ventures, project documentation, offtake and transportation, competition law, and resolution of disputes. We are familiar with contracts used across the industry and familiar with the issues that are likely to arise.
We advise both Japanese companies and non-Japanese investors who are interested in business opportunities in Japan, particularly as the markets and regulations for electricity, gas and renewables continue to evolve.
We have partners in our energy team who are qualified to practice Japanese law, New York law and English law. This capability, together with our network of international offices and strategic alliances with local law firms, enables us to offer our clients a one-stop shop for transactions within and outside Japan.
