    JFE Engineering Corporation : Establishment of a joint venture for a large-scale Waste to Energy project in Vietnam

Leading Japanese law firm Nishimura & Asahi advised JFE Engineering Corporation on its agreement with Thuan Thanh Environment Joint Stock Company, a major recycling company in Vietnam, to jointly establish T&J Green Energy Company Limited, a Waste to Energy business in Vietnam.

The Nishimura & Asahi team advising JFE Engineering was led by partners Taro Hirosawa and Adrian Joyce, supported by Tomomi Murata.

Recent experience includes advising sponsors and lenders on: • LNG: a large number of LNG vessel financings (20 vessels since 2020), SPAs and joint ventures; • Infrastructure: projects including five subsea cable financings in APAC and the Americas and two infrastructure projects in Japan; • Renewables: greenfield projects and project sales in Japan and APAC including solar, wind and waste to energy. • Asset finance: debt finance, restructurings, SLB, ESG and JOLCOs in the shipping and aviation sectors. He has strong expertise in cross-border M&A/joint ventures, real estate development, labor, compliance, crisis management deals, and international transactions.
