Special Liquidation of MSJ Asset Management Co.
Nishimura & Asahi represented MSJ Asset Management Co. (formerly, Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation) in filing a petition for its special liquidation proceedings and obtained the court's approval of the distribution plan.
The team was led by Tokyo partners Kentaro Yokoyama and Kotaro Fuji, supported by associates Akihiko Norita and Nariko Inoue.

Kotaro has engaged in many restructuring cases through not only formal insolvency proceedings but also out-of-court workouts. From 2019 to 2023, he provided legal advice on cross-border M&A, restructuring/insolvency, disputes, and other corporate matters (with a focus on those related to Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philippines) from our Singapore Office by leveraging the knowledge and experience in local legal and commercial practices and the connection with local professionals.
Kentaro has extensive experience representing companies in distress, creditors, buyers and other stakeholders across a variety of industries in in- and out-of-court reorganizations. With his significant knowledge and experience, he has served as an ordinary councilor of the Japanese Association of Turnaround Professionals （“JATP”） since 2019, which is currently the only Specified Certified Dispute Resolution Business Operator in Japan. Kentaro's experience also includes advising private companies in connection with acquisitions, mergers, and corporate litigations.
