    Shikoku Machizukuri & Omotenashi Planning GK: Commencement of hotel business in collaboration with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group

Leading Japanese law firm Nishimura & Asahi advised Shikoku Machizukuri & Omotenashi Planning GK (incorporated by nine companies including Shikoku Electric Power Company) on its commencement of a hotel business in Shikoku, in collaboration with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

廣田 雄一郎

Yuichiro has been the co-head of our Osaka office since its establishment. After studying in the United States and being seconded to the Bank of Japan, he has mainly handled corporate, M&A, cross-border M&A, labor law, and labor dispute matters, and has extensive experience in a variety of other practice areas. In addition, he also regularly consults with his clients in order to ensure that any urgent matters are addressed promptly. His ability to advise on corporate crisis management and M&A matters is enhanced by his close relationships with his clients as well as with other legal professionals.

松平 定之

Sadayuki has a wealth of experience in supporting international clients in projects, transactions, and businesses in the energy sector. Sadayuki advises his clients on the best solutions for achieving their business goals based on his deep understanding of the relevant laws and regulations and practices in the full energy supply chain. He also has expertise in carbon-neutral projects and businesses, such as renewable power projects and hydrogen projects, as well as pioneering businesses involved in recent developments in the electricity market and the regulations thereon. Sadayuki serves as a member of an industrial safety rules committee and a hydrogen safety strategy committee, both of which were established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and also is a member of an electricity capacity market committee, which is part of the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators, Japan (OCCTO).

Akihisa is a partner in our M&A team. He handles many domestic and international M&As, business alliances including JVs, business succession, equity finance, and hostile takeovers. He has abundant practical experience for both listed and unlisted companies and wide range of company sizes and transaction types, knowledge of cutting-edge practical trends and laws and regulations, and the ability to respond flexibly and hands-on.
In addition, he active in start-up finance support, IPO support, and daily legal support.
Recently, using the network and knowledge cultivated through studying abroad in Europe and the United States, he also deals with sustainability-related topics such as sustainable finance, including ESG investment and impact investment, social enterprise, B Corp certification, and social IPO.
