International Arbitration Practice from the Perspectives of Arbitrators and Arbitration Institutions

Date
8-Apr-15
Venue
Tokyo Izumi Garden Conference Center, Room No. 2

As Japanese corporations have expanded globally, especially into regions such as Asia, Africa and the Middle East, there has been an increased awareness in the importance of understanding international arbitration as an effective method of dispute resolution.

On the other hand, the number of Japanese practitioners who are knowledgeable about international arbitration practice is still very limited. This has made it difficult for Japanese corporations to obtain useful information based on practical experiences, such as what happens when an arbitration is filed and how and what must be prepared for it.

Nishimura & Asahi held a seminar on the practice of international arbitration. The event was co-sponsored by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), and attended by SIAC's CEO, Ms. Lim Seok Hui. Additionally, a video specifically prepared for this seminar was presented by Gary Born, who is one of the world's most eminent practitioners on international arbitration.
