On January 27, 2021, the Investment Treaty Arbitration Committee (ITAC) of the Japan Association of Arbitrators (JAA) and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) hosted a webinar titled “Introduction to Investor-State Mediation”. Ms. Frauke Nitschke (ICSID) provided an update on current developments in investor-state mediation, including ICSID’s mediation rules. She also provided an insight into ICSID’s continued efforts at promoting investment mediation. Ms. Geraldine Fischer (ICSID) coordinated the Q&A session.
The webinar started with introductory remarks by Hiroyuki Tezuka, as an executive director of JAA in charge of the ITAC. Lars Markert moderated and Shimpei Ishido coordinated the event.
