Ken Sakurabayashi focuses his practice on corporate crisis management and is a former federal prosecutor at the U.S. Department of Justice. He brings extensive experience in handling some of the largest and complex international matters, including criminal cartel investigations and patent litigations. He has assisted clients to navigate through some of the most complex leniency applications in history. As a prosecutor, the US Department of Justice awarded him one of its highest distinctions for his work in the criminal investigation into the fuel supply industry in Korea.
Ken Sakurabayashi brings with deep experience in handling some of the most significant cases in the United States. He has an expertise in criminal cartel investigations in several industries as both a federal prosecutor and defense attorney, including Home Healthcare, Korea Fuels, Auto Parts, and Freight Forwarding. As a prosecutor, he was involved in multiple investigations coordinating with sister agencies within the United States and other foreign prosecution agencies. The Korea Fuels investigations created the foundation to launch the US-DOJ's Procurement Collusion Strike Force (PCSF). He was also a team leader of the "crackdown" of the supply chain industry announced in former-President Biden's State of the Union Address in 2022.
As a defense attorney, he helped coordinate the defense of companies before competition authorities in and outside of the United States, one which lead to the largest reduction in criminal antitrust fines in U.S. history. In addition, Ken Sakurabayashi has experience in representing companies in large scale patent litigations.
