Review of the USMCA Under Trump’s Second Presidency
– Potential Impacts for Japanese (and Other) Companies –
Words have power, especially when said by the president-elect of the world’s largest economy. On November 5, Donald Trump was elected to become the next president of the United States, defeating Vice-President Kamala Harris. During his campaign, Trump announced that he intends to renegotiate certain aspects of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (“USMCA” or “Agreement”).
